SN54197: Looking for obsolete part

Part Number: SN54197

I am currently looking for an SN54197J chip.

TI’s website says the part is still technically active but there’s no stock anywhere (within recognized vendors).

I also didn't find any modern equivalent to the part.

I was wondering if TI would have a solution to my problem.

Hi Eliott,

While not much, it does seem that TI.com still shows stock. Unfortunately, there isn't a 1-1 modern equivalent.

Hi all,

I don't know if it's because i'm ordering from Canada, but where on your screenshots you have the stock amount i have "out of stock".

Eliott,

At the top right of the screen on ti.com it should say "Canada" or something. Can you click that and change your shipping preferences to see if that changes the stock that you see?

If we can confirm it's some weird regional issue I think we can work it out.

The web site shows different stock levels for insiders and for mere mortals. I do not know what the requirements are to get at that stock.

I would very much like to know if it's a priority issue and if it is, are there way to get access to the stock. If anyone knows.

After changing my destination to multiple destinations (including US), it never changes the "out of order" stock.
