Hi team,

Please help with the customer's questions of SN74HC165PWR spec below 

1. Which clock frequency standard is Min/Max on the Datasheet?


2, They currently set clock frequency =6MHz(3.3VCC), is it within the spec?


3, According to 6.13, what is the frequency spec at 3.3Vcc?

    Hi Roger,

    1. The switching fmax (min) is the largest frequency that we guarantee our part can output. It is the smallest guaranteed frequency maximum. If you output a frequency over that minimum, it is not guaranteed. I agree the wordage is confusing, but it is industry standard.

    The fclock maximum is the maximum input frequency that we recommend inputting to the part.

    2/3: For value between those in the datasheet, TI recommends linear interpolation. This gives an fclock max of 12 MHz at 3.3 V.
