Part Number: SN74LV4046A
Hello,
We've been having some trouble with Phase comparator 2 on this IC and I think we have a combination of issues. For our use case we're only interested in the phase comparator aspect of this IC.
One of our issues is very similar to CD74HC4046A: Phase Comparator 2 Output (PC2OUT) issue - Logic forum - Logic - TI E2E support forums, we've added a resistor divder to bias the PC2OUT to VCC/2 and are evaluating that particular fix.
Our other issues is that our input signals to SIGIN and COMPIN aren't always present, and we get inconsistent resting voltages when our signals aren't present. With PC2OUT biased to VCC/2 the resting voltages can be either VCC-0.3V, 0.3V, or (rather rarely) VCC/2. When the signals are applied the output of PC2 is based off the resting voltage.
Any tips or advice on getting a more consistent behavior out of PC2 with intermittent signals would be greatly appreciated.
