TPLD2001: TPLD as IO expander - understanding limitations

Part Number: TPLD2001

Hi team,

I saw this apps note : www.ti.com/.../scla081.pdf

I would like to try and use TPLD as I2C IO expander. I would like to understand the maximum IO that can be used for our TPLDs. The pdf only uses several IOs for example.

In ICS, I chose TPLD2001 for example. I was able to choose 8 GPOs.

Out of all 18 GPIOs on TPLD2001, can how many GPIs and GPOs can I assign as I2C IO expander?

Also, can you confirm that I should be able to use one of the IOs as an inturrupt for the MCU for an event, right?

Thanks,

Luke
