TPLD801: TPLD801 programming interface

Please let me know which pins are used by the programmin interface to program the TPLD801 chip.

Beside GPI, there should be another 3 or 4 pins used as SPI interface. These are not documented in the datasheet. The TPLD801-DRL-EVM datasheet seems to show that GPIO2, 3, 4, and 5 are used, but this is not certain.

Please let me know. Is there a specific reason that the functionality of teh pins for progarmming purposes is not presented in the TPLD801 datasheet?

    Thank you and sorry, this is not what I asked. My question is:

    I did not ask about the interface protocol, I was asking what pins of this chip are used for programming, since these pins have to be made available at a header interface for programming access. The TPLD801-DRL-EVM datasheet seems to show that GPIO2, 3, 4, and 5 are used, but this is not certain.

    Other TI application notes suggests GPIO 1, 2, 4 and 5, I am not really sure.

    Please help. I think what I ask is very valid and should be published as hardware interface requirements. The chip is so small that programming it off-board manually is totally impractical for volume builds.

    Please see below the pin assignment. The EVM datasheet should be the final one. 

    However, I don't understand your requirement. What is your intended programming method?

    TI TPLD programmer + TI TPLD801 EVM ? Or

    Different programmer + TI TPLD801 EVM ? Or

    TI TPLD programmer + Different programming board.

    I suggest you use our programmer and our EVM's for easier programming.

    Can you share the other app-note you are mentioning?

    "Moreover, TPLD801 and TPLD1201 devices need a general purpose input (GPI) line as well, which means that five general-purpose input/output (GPIO) total (IO5, IO4, IO2, IO1 and GPI) must be used for configuration"

    TPLDTm devices need a serial peripheral interface (SPI) or inter-integrated circuit (I2C) interface to be configured
    temporary or permanently. Moreover, TPLD801 and TPLD1201 devices need a general purpose input (GPI) line
    as well, which means that five general-purpose input/output (GPIO) total (IO5, IO4, IO2, IO1 and GPI) must be
    used for configuration. In some cases, the user prefers to install the TPLD device in one's own system specially
    in the development phase of a given project.

    I think if you re-confirm that the correct pins are GPIO 2, 3, 4, and 5, and also correct slla677, the issue would be addressed.
