TXB0304: TXB0304 and TXB0604 spec difference or improvement

Part Number: TXB0304
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0604, TXU0304

Hi TI experts

We design SPI level shifter with TXB0304, however, the infoamtion from TI web site recommend TXB0604 for drop-in placement.

May we know any spec difference/improvement between TXB0304 and TXB0604? Any errata or bug we met and change solution to TXB0604 then fixed?

Regards,

Vincent

  • The TXB0604 supports higher data rates, but supports smaller supply voltage ranges.

For SPI, the recommended translator is the TXU0304.

  • Hi Clemens

We design the TXB0304 and replace TXB0604 is feasible, but cahnge to TXU0304 is not feasible.

Therefore, we want to check  the spec difference/improvement between TXB0304 and TXB0604.

    Regards,

    Vincent

  • Hi Vincent,

Please note the mentioned TXB0304, TXB0604, and TXU0304 are all P2P so they can be dropped in replaced with one another. Can you provide more details on how it isn't feasible in your setup? Is it the specific direction of the 4 signal lanes not routed similar to TXU0304 direction?

Similar to Clemens' response, the TXB0604 supports longer distance driving and higher data rate support then the TXB0304, hence the suggestion to migrate to the TXB060x.

    Regards,

    Jack
