TI component IMC thickness.pdf
When use the part (38016873-70--SN74HC08QPWRQ1--Texas Instruments), we do a cross section after SMT process. The TI part is soldered on U462. We measured the IMC thickness (between the pin and the solder)is 7.86um/6.59um for pin 1/pin 2. We notice the TI pin(lead) finish is Au.
But for Copper-Tin intermetallic bond, the IMC thickness spec is ≥1um and ≤6um.
Can TI confrim the spec of the IMC thickness for automotive part ? Does it meet spec?
