CD74HC4050: Request for HBM and CDM ESD ratings

Part Number: CD74HC4050

Hi expert,

My customer is evaluating our CD74HC4050M96 over Nexperia.

And they found there is no ESD information on datasheet.

Could you kindly provide HBM and CDM to me ?

    Hi Emma,

    We do not have ESD data collected for this specific device as it is an older legacy part. From other testing data, we know this family of device has ESD ratings of HBM >1000V and CBM >250V. If you want ESD data for this specific part, we will have to submit an ESD request and acquire the data ourselves, which would take at least 6 weeks.

    Ideally, I would recommend SN74AC17 as an alternative. It is a 6-channel buffer with 1.5V - 6V supply and higher drive strength. It also has ESD ratings in the datasheet.

    Chris,

    So THE CBM is only above 250V?  other venders usually above 1000V. could you kindly confirm? 

    Beside, how to summit an ESD request. could you tell me the method? 

    Thanks for your recommendation, but it is not P2P, customer may not adopt.

    Hi Emma,

    We don't have ESD testing data so I can't say for sure what the CBM rating is. However, the rest of the device family has at least 250V CBM.

    I will submit an ESD request to get HBM and CBM ratings for this device. Can you provide what package you need specs for?

    It is CD74HC4050M96, I just need HBM and CBM.

    Hi Emma,

    Thanks for the info, I'll submit the request. It will take at least 6 weeks to get results. We will also update the datasheet appropriately once the testing is complete.
