Hi Team,

Could you please help me with designing a circuit using the SN54SC8T541-SEP?

I have one SDA line and one SCL line from an I²C interface. Can I use one SN54SC8T541-SEP to expand the single SDA line into eight SDA lines, and another SN54SC8T541-SEP to expand the single SCL line into eight SCL lines for further use in my circuit?

Please confirm whether this configuration is feasible and if there are any specific design considerations or limitations I should be aware of.

    I²C uses bidirectional open-drain signals; the SN54SC8T541-SEP cannot handle those.

    What is the actual problem you're trying to solve? Why do you want to have eight different I²C buses? In theory, I²C can handle many devices on a single bus.

    Hello Bhakti,

    Adding to what Clemens said, what voltage range will you be operating in? Does the rating -SEP (Space) strictly needed or can something like -EP work?
