TPLD-PROGRAM: TPLD-PROGRAM MER Non-Functional After Update

Part Number: TPLD-PROGRAM

Hello All,

1st kit arrived - made the 'apparent' mistake of saying 'OK' to - your programmer needs to download a new update:

Tried to configure:

Tried recover option:

And it appears to be stuck - so answer to update firmware is apparently no.

Is this happening to anyone else???

Thanks In Advance,
John W,

  • Yes - bought more than one - not going to 'brick' this one - maybe these are stuck in DFU mode after this update????

  • Appears stuck here.

  • TI,

For the TPLD-Programmer I was having an issue with - I did this:

    1)  Carefully popped the cover off.
    2)  Held down the RESET (and boot) switches while powering on the unit or the 'classic' get it unstuck from DFU mode or whatever mode it was in.
    3) Started ICS (again) - and it happily proceeded with the firmware update.

    Suggestions:
The order in which people are given - unplug programmer, etc - may become out of sync with what's actually going on.
I've managed to 'crash' ICS more than once - appears to be not so stable right now - is there a repo or a place where we can report bugs?
TI used to have this for CCS and other tools.
One of the issues - the package RWS/RWB doesn't appear to be 'sticky' - enough - should be.
The unit should not program if it's loaded (or changes) to the wrong device - we shouldn't even be able to 'burn' a device if the 'wrong' one is loaded -
wrong here also means the config got changed out from under the user.
I've also seen instances where ICS says the part has been programmed or the part is 'burned' - and that's absolutely incorrect.

    Best Regards,
    John W.
