CD4013B: Test socket for CD4013BNSR

Guru 15230 points

Part Number: CD4013B

Hi,

Our customer is looking for a test socket for the CD4013BNSR, which uses TI’s 14-pin NS package.

The socket will be used in a test fixture to connect the device to a circuit without soldering and to allow the device to be removed after testing. The customer needs this fixture for periodic testing of logic ICs held in inventory.

Could you please confirm whether the following socket is mechanically compatible with the CD4013BNSR NS package?

ATP-SOP14 (5.4)-1.27 test socket

If it is not compatible, could you please recommend a suitable test socket?

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Conor

  • Hi Conor,

The issue you might run into with the test socket you posted is that its length is about a mm shorter than the CD4013B package. I recommend looking for a SOP16 test socket with 1.27 pin pitch. It should accommodate the CD4013B's extra length, you would just have two non-connected pins.  I would take a look at the 652D0282211 test socket and see if it suits your needs.

  • Hi Kollin,

    Thank you for your recommendation.

We checked the product specifications and found that 652D0282211 appears to be a 28-pin SOP socket. Based on your recommendation for a 16-pin SOP socket with a 1.27 mm pitch, we believe the intended part number may be 652D0162211E202, as shown on the same product page:

    https://www.ecufixtool.com/products/652b0162211-002-652d0162211e202-adapter-burn-in-test-fixture

Could you please confirm whether 652D0162211E202 is the correct socket to evaluate for the CD4013BNSR?

We understand that the two additional socket contacts would remain unconnected.

    Thank you for your clarification.

    Best regards,

    Conor

  • Hi Conor,

I'm filling in for Kollin today.

I'm worried about recommended the sockets discussed here because I can't find detailed measurement information or technical drawings. I suggest reaching out to the socket manufacturer for drawings that fit our this package. Our measurements for the NS package can be found Here, so you can compare it with the sockets you are looking at online.

    Regards,

    Nikki
