SN74AUP1G74 datasheet confusion

Hi all,

I was looking over the SN74AUP1G74 datasheet and noticed that fclock at 3.3V is listed as 90MHz MAX under Timing Requirements whereas fmax at 3.3V is listed as 180MHz under Switching Characteristics.

Is this a discrepancy or am I misunderstanding what I'm reading on the datasheet?

Basically, I wanted to know if I could run this device with a clock input of 160MHz.

If you guys could straighten me out on this, I'd appreciate it.

It looks like they use the worst case condition for Fclock. Fmax at 30pf. Fclock should have been left out of the datasheet or broken out to different loads like Fmax.

Go by Fmax at your expected load. If you are driving 1 CMOS load then I would use the 5pf conditions. Fmax at 5pf is 180 Mhz.
