TXS0102. Junk Values are coming.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0102

I am trying to send data using UART through TXS0102. It will work perfectly for sometime and after that it start sending junk data. What will be the problem. I am using the same reference design in the datasheet. The only change I have made is that, instead of putting .1uF in 1.8v line, I have put 10nF/10v. Will that be a problem?

  • It could be the cause of the problem. The decoupling capacitors are there to provide the power peaks needed by a digital device. If the capacitor is too small, the Vcc voltage could drop upon because of the power peaks consumed by the device, and produce garbage as you described.

The capacitor is obviously replenished by the main voltage, but the main voltage has a relatively big series inductance and could not be replenishing fast enough... and you see the garbage.
