Dear all,

Does the MAX Vin specified for sn74lvc08 (5.5V) applies only when VCC= 5.5V or within the whole range of VCC.

Hi,

this part is LVC and no little logic, hence you must not apply a VCC of greater 3.6 V. (datasheet: operates from 1.65 V to 3.6 V). But the inputs are alway, independent of VCC 5 V tolerant (datasheet: inputs accept voltages to 5.5 V).

Sorry I meant SN74LV08A-EP.

Can its input go 5V while VCC is 4 V, for example?

Yes, it can. The input can go to 5V even if Vcc is zero. Check the Ioff feature.

Thanks. Would the gate still follow the logic table if Vcc was lower than the input?
