dual channel adaptor for single channel oscilloscope

I have a question testing this circuit on a dual channel cro with external trigger , in order to separate the sync pulse.

I have successfully tested this circuit and the two channels follow each other on the same output.

Then I used another channel to input a sync pulse which is selectable between CH1 & CH2 , which I selected CH1.

Therfore , a sync pulse is there at the beginning of each waveform ,even though it only sends a trigger at the moment

from onen source at a time.

No matter how I try I can't succsessfully display the two waveforms overlaping each other.

It is an old cro , and a fair bit of noise around too.

The adaptor has two modes , CHOP & ALT and I'm using ALT because the frequency I am testing is around 5Khz.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks-Simon
