Hyperlynx Modelling of AVCB Dynamic Output Control

Does Hyperlynx accurately model the DOC characteristics?  I am seeing alot of overshoot and undershoot in my simulations which, according to the datasheet, these devices eliminate with the DOC.  Is there something I can change in the Hyperlynx tool to allow the DOC to be modelled more accurately?

  • I dont think it can be modeled accurately. adding series resistor would help clean the ringing but would also slow the edge in the center of the signal.

You might try the web bench forum to see if they have any Ideas.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I tried adding a series resistor to eliminate the overshoot but am having trouble finding a value that satisfies both the slow/weak and fast/strong conditions.  It would be nice to be able to show I don't need the series resistors with these parts.

I will try some other forums but suspect breadboarding may be a better option. (as always)
