Difference between TCA9554 and PCA9534

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCA9554, PCA9534, PCA9554

Hi!

I am looking into if I should use the PCA9534 or the TCA9554. What is the difference between these devices?

Best regards, Martin

  • Hello Martin,

From the specs on the product page, it looks like the difference between the PCA and TCA would be the voltage range.  The PCA range is 2.3 to 5.5V and the TCA is 1.65 to 5.5.

The difference between the PCA9534  and PCA9554 (TCA9554) is that the PCA9534 is a low power version that does not have an internal I/O pull up resistor.

The fixed address for both devices are the same and allow for up to 8 devices on a single bus.  The A version of each allows up to 16 devices on the same bus.

Inside the PCA9534 data sheet you can find a comparison chart for the different devices in the PCA and TCA families.

    Thanks,
