I have an application that I would like to use this IC with. It seems like it should work, but I would like another opinion. I am intending to use this chip as buffer between 3V logic and 5V logic in the same system.
The 74ABT125 will be supplied with 5V. The input to the 74ABT125 is fed from a SN74CB3T3257 powered with 3V. The 3257 chip was chosen for its multiplexing qualities rather than the need for level conversion (the switch inputs of the 3257 are driven at 3V). Looking at Fig 3 and the of the 3257 datasheet, it shows I should get conservatively 2.7V output @ 1uA which is the Ii of the 74ABT125. With a 2V Vh min. input of the 74ABT125, it would seem that I should not have any logic problems with this stage?
I am more worried about the output stage of the 74ABT125. I am trying to drive the serial port of a LTC6903 which is programmable square wave generator. The minimum Vih of the LTC6903 is described as 0.67*VCC Max, which in the 5V system is 3.35V . The Iin of the LTC6903 is 10uA. I see that the 74ABT125 is specified with a minimum Voh of 3V @ -3mA. Am I safe in assuming that the with such a light load (10uA), that the Voh of the 74ABT125 should cover the Vih minimum of the LTC6903 serial inputs?
