74AVC4T245 - connecting outputs and pull resistors on inputs

Hi

I have a design where we are very space limited and uses a bunch of 74AVC4T245 for combined level translating and bus driving (50 ohm). Even if we use one of the small packages, the relating resistors take up a lot of space.

The 345 is used as unidirectional buffers (not transceivers).

Q1)

In order to be able to drive a 50 ohm terminated line, I have connected 6 outputs together using a small series resistor on each output.

What would the penalty be if I removed the series resistors on the outputs and just connected them together directly?

Q2)

To save some more pull resistors, it could be beneficial to connect unused inputs and control inputs directly to GND or VCC.

Would that be OK to do, or could it cause issues?

(We do not need to disable or change state during test)
