SN65C3223 errata claims the IC does not have latchup protection. Does this apply to the RS232 "compatible" I/O or just the 3.3-5V digital I/O? Most 232 interfaces can be connected even when power is not applied to the IC without causing damage to the reciever IC. Is this possible with the SN65C3223? The datasheet lists the max current at the input as 1uA, I assume this only applies to the digital inputs, does it also apply to the RS232 interface? If so, can the interface really withstand 25V levels when Rin is only 3kohms? Please respond through email. Thank you.
