CD4066 APPLICATION INFORMATION

Hello

We are using CD4066 in a resistor touch screen switching circuit. We have seen that at the end of its DATASHEET there is following sentence:

In certain applications, the external load-resistor current can include both VDD and signal-line components. To avoid
drawing VDD current when switch current flows into terminals 1, 4, 8, or 11, the voltage drop across the bidirectional
switch must not exceed 0.8 V (calculated from ron values shown).

Please does anybody can explain me what does it really mean with an example of a circuit concerning this application information?

Does the limit of 0,8V for the voltage drop must always be met or only in that case?

Thank you in advance and best regards.
