alternate part for TXB0101DCKR

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0101, SN74LVC1T45

Hi

I need an alternate part for TXB0101DCKR  where i had the circuit

1) From connecting the CAN side to level translator ( b-side), it is not supporting the Vih min at level translator.  What will be affect if i receive 2.88V logic level to level translator. Does it recognize as HIGH logic or it does not recognize it?

2) Whether i can get alternate part from TI where it matches my requirement?

Thanks

Karthik

  • Hi, Karthik

For TXB0101, the minimum input voltage is equal to 0.65*VccI. If input signal is less than 0.65*VccI, it will be transferred as low level voltage (Low logic).  Thus, the 2.88 V logic level is recognized as low logic when power supply is 5V.

In your system, if the transferred signal is defined-direction, the SN74LVC1T45 can be used. When the power supply is 4V, the 2.88 V logic level can be recognized high logic and its maximum input voltage can be up to 5.5V. Thus, the 5V signal can transfer the translator without any damage.

    Thanks

  • Hi Lawrence

    Thanks for your feedback

Still translator is not meeting my specification. Consider Supply voltage VCC=5V with tolerance (4.8 to 5.2V) The signal coming out from CAN transceiver is Vo(min)=2.88V and  translator is operating at 4.8V, then as per your datasheet at pg4, Vih=VCCI *0.7 = 4.8*0.7=3.36V. So still it recognize as low logic for input 2.88V.

    Thanks

  • Hi, Karhik

If power supply is around 5V, the SN74LVC1T45 is not suitable. But when the power supply is 4V, if 4V power supply can be provided in your system,  the SN74LVC1T45 can  meet your requirement.

    Thanks
