TXB010x interface to Telit GE865 USART lines

Hi,

I'm trying to interface at ATmega328 5v to a Telit GE865 2.8v USART lines using a TXB010x (have tried a 01 and 06 chips).  The Tx signal looks very clean however the Rx line is extremely noisy.  Has anyone had success with this interface?  I've tried pull-up resistors because it looks like the Telit can only supply about 1mA or so while the TXB is looking for around 2mA.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    If the Telit cannot supply 2mA of current to override the internal buffer, the device will not operate correctly.

    Unfortunately pull up resistors will likely contend with the internal circuity as well. You may want to look into using a TXS device.
