I was just looking more closely at the datasheets for the SN74AVCH4T245 and SN74AVCH8T245 and realized that the bus hold circuitry pulls substantial current when all the pins on all the parts are considered. Am I correct in understanding that if I am driving a valid logic level to an input pin, I have to source/sink more current than the bus-hold circuitry sources/sinks in order to override it? If that’s the case then I’m consuming at least that much current all the time whether I am driving the inputs or not. Will you confirm/correct my understanding of the bus-hold circuitry?
Please confirm for me that the AVC parts only consume a few uA of leakage current on their inputs and about 16uA Icc total.
