Is bypass cap needed for Vcc of sn74alb16244 and sn74alb16245?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74ALB16244, SN74ALB16245

The sn74alb16244 and sn74alb16245 are connected between a TMS20C6726B (EMIF) and a NOR flash for address and data lines, respectively.
Is bypass cap needed for Vcc of sn74alb16244 and sn74alb16245? if so, what is the proper value?

    Hi Joshua

Bypass caps are always needed especially for multibit parts. The Bypass cap prevents VCC and GND from being jerked around from switching current. The switching current can really affect the output when multiple bits switch at the same time.

We recomend .1uf for single Vcc parts and .01uf on each Vcc pin for multiple Vcc parts.
