temperature specification for SN74LVC86ARGYR

Dear Sir or Madam,

The part SN74LVC86ARGYR has confusing temperature spec. On page 8 of the technical spec PDF and on your web-site it is listed as a +125 degree part but on the first page of the same technical specification PDF it is listed as limited to +85 degree. Is it possible to resolve this?

We need to use this part at +125 degree and will be grateful for removing a misleading reference to the restriction to +85 degree.

Best regards

Victor Zhitomirsky (Dr)

  • Victor,

Originally the part was only specified to work up to 85 C. Later the part was re-made, or atleast re-tested, for operating conditions up to 125 C. The maximum and minimum of each parameter is still valid for 85 C, which is why this is stated. The data for the temperature range up to 125 C is also valid, and those are the maximum and minimum parameters you will want to use in your design.

  • Victor,
My response earlier was directed at the dual temperature range columns in the electrical characteristics.
For your specific question, please use the information on page 8. We will fix this issue when we update the datasheet. Thanks for catching that.
