SN74AHC1G04-Q1 for crystal oscillation circuit

Hi Team,

My customer considers to use SN74AHC1G04-Q1 for crystal oscillation circuit and I was asked the following.
Is this device single stage inverter?
Datasheet(logic diagram) page.1 shows it is single stage inverter but I would like to confirm just in case.

He considered SN74HCU04(single stage inverter) at first, but he would like to use 1 bit inverter and automotive grade is also required for his application.

Your help would be appreciated.

Yaita-san,

By "single stage" your customer is asking for an inverter with an unbuffered output. TI's inverters that end in "U04" have unbuffered outputs. Consider using the SN74AHC1GU04.

Yaita-san,

I was also told that any inverter should work regardless if it is single-stage or not. See the application note below.
