SN75176B RS485 TRANSCEIVER 5V TTL TO 1.8V COMPATIBLE LEVEL TRANSLATOR

Can you lease explain your compatibility requirement better? Are you trying to replace the SN5176B with a level translator? If it is the RS485 application se will have to support differential signals.

No I am not trying to replace SN75176B with level translator. SN75176B has uart RS232 interface at 5v TTL logic. While I want to interface this interface with my processor that has RS232 interface at 1.8v cmos logic. Please suggest me some level translator for this compatibility.

The part suggested TXB0108 or TXB0104 doesn't appear to translate properly. Please Confirm & correct me if I am wrong.

Yes, you are correct. Unfortunately we cannot meet the 2.7V. Our direction controlled and auto-direction parts have CMOS inputs which have a switching turn on threshold of 50%. We hence spec it with 15% margin at 65% and 35% for the voltage levels.

LSF parts might be option. I have forwarded this to the appropriate contact to guide you with an option. LSF010x family does not have a specific VIH or VIL. This level is controlled by Vref_A. (turn on ~Vref_A - 0.5 V.)
