SN74AVC4T245 / Thermal characteristic TJ (MAX) and power dissipation in package Pd

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AVC4T245

Hi All

Our customer requests us the information of SN74AVC4T245RSVR.
Could you provide us the following two information ?

[Q1]
What is the maximum junction temperature Tj of SN74AVC4T245RSVR?

[Q2]
What is the power dissipation in package, Pd ?

Best Regards,
Sho Ogane

  • Hi

SN74AVC4T245 datasheet has the thermal information listed on page 5. Power dissipation should be calculated on customer's pcb.

The absolute maximum junction temperature is -40C to 150C.

    Thanks
  • Hello, Jennifer Joseph~

I have one question for SN74AVC4T245PWR.
According to your answer as upper, absolute maximum junction temperature is -40'C to 150'C.
Is this temperature same for PWR (TSSOP-16) package or not??
If not, please let me know the operating junction temperature range of SN74AVC4T245PWR.

    Thanks... C.W. :)

PS) In the datasheet, "Operating free-air temperature (Ta)" is -40'C to 85'C.

  • Hi C.W

Yes, it is applicable for TSSOP.

Please be advised it is ABS max junction temp only. We unfortunately cannot  spec an operating junction temp.

We could calculate operating junction based on thermal power dissipation  equation.  Thanks

  • Hello Jennifer.

    Thanks for your answer.

How to calculate the operating junction temperature based on thermal power dissipation equation??
Or, where can I find the document for calculating the operating junction temperature??

    Thanks... C.W. :)
  • Hello C.W.

I have a link to a good application note that describes the process of calculating junction temperatures and gives a definition of all the terms that are relevant.  If you have questions or if anything isn't clear let me know and I can expand on the process of calculating junction temperature.
