Our customer has a question regarding the maximum operating junction temperature of TI part number SN74AC244DB (SSOP-20 package). They assumed that its max tJ was 125C. Now they are questioning that assumption. Nowhere in the data sheet for the SN74AC244DB is max operating tj specified. Based on the fact that the data sheet specifies a max operatingTA of 85 deg C can you tell us what the maximum tj would be?

The maximum junction temperature will always be equal to the maximum operating temperature.

Thanks for your reply. My original question was not stated clearly. The data sheet for the SN74AC244DB (SSOP-20 package) specifies the max operating ambient temperature (TA) for this device to be 85°C. The question is what is the max operating junction temperature (TJ)?

Sorry for the confusion. The max operating junction temperature (T_J) on any TI part will be equal to the maximum storage temperature, T_stg(MAX). In this case, 150 C.
