My customer is asking about TUSB1106. It's a transceiver for USB, but I see it only does some level shift function. So can we replace it with our level shifter device? What is the difference between them?
The difference between the TUSB1106 and a basic level shifter like the TXS0202 is the control logic pins the USB ASIC has access to configure the TUSB1106. The TUSB1106 can be configured to transmit and receive serial data at both full-speed (12-Mbit/s) and low-speed (1.5-Mbit/s) data rates and to use single ended or differential data input interface.
What is the customer application that they are looking for a level shifting device. Do you have a schematic or diagram of what solution they are trying to achieve?
The customer is designing a industrial camera. they find their competitor was using TUSB1106 but seems this function can be acheived by a level shift. So they are considering using a level shift for cost down. I think the TUSB1106 is not very competitive to simple level shift.
