They have roughly the same logic level output according to the Recommended Operating Condtions tables in the datasheet. At 3 V, the logic HIGH for the LV is >=2.1 V and the LVC is >=2.3 V. If you want even lower Io, our AHC, HC, and HCT families have lower Io.

Actually customer need replacement with low Iol/h than 24MA for 16bit version, SN74LVC16244.

The HC/AHC are too low.....

Can the SN74LVT16244 or SN74LVT162244 be a good/direct replacement?

What about SN74ALVT16 version?

The current part numbers we sell are SN74LVTH162244 and SN74LVTH16244a. Both devices also have the bus-hold feature on them, so the bus lines never float. This allows you to not need pull-up resistors on your bus lines.
You are correct: of the two devices, the SN74LVTH162244 has a lower Io current. It can be used to replace the SN74LVC244A with a 16-bit buffer.
