Thanks for the info.
The datasheet for the SN74ALVC164245 says there are newer versions available. Is this part going to be phased out? Is is better to go with a 16T245 part?
What is the main difference between these parts (they all seem to be very similar):
SN74ALVC164245
SN74LVC16T245
SN74LVCH16T245
I'm looking for a basic 3.3V to 5V and 5V to 3.3V voltage translator. It looks like all of these parts have individual DIR,OE signals for each byte.
Hi Erik ,
The policy of TI is not to phase out devices until the customer keeps buying them . If there are no orders for a long period of time (I think 2 yrs ) then we might consider this for end of life which will be indicated in the website .
The comparison for 3 of the devices here below : ALVC164245 has dual supplies which operates from 3 to 5.5V and Vcca from 2.3 to 3.6V .recommended.
Don't you need DIR or OE pins at all ? You can also consider LSF0108 , TXB030x,TXS010x for your applications .They are auto-direction sensing translators.
