Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0104, TXS0104E
We have a developer board using a TXB0104 level shifter. The problem w/ this part is it has a 4k ohm output impedance. Because we’re trying to drive pins low that have 10k pullups, we are unable to get the line below 1V due to the voltage division.
We looked at the TXS0104E. This would solve the problem as it doesn’t have a series output resistance (it uses a 10k pull-up internaly). However, this component has a Vccb range of 2.3 – 5.5V. It’s possible some customers will have both Vcca and Vccb set to 1.8V. That is why the TXS010rE looked so familiar.
Because the PCB’s are already built, is there a compatible footprint component that doesn’t have the series resistance and allows for Vcca == Vccb >= 1.8V?
