SN74ALVC164245 Power-down protection on inputs and outputs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74ALVC164245

Hi Everybody!

I need an information of SN74ALVC164245.
In case of VCCA and VCCB Power-down then prevent the "input signal sink current "and "output sink current "?

-Would SN74ALVC164245 have "Power-down protect function" on inputs and outputs ? (like a Ioff or partial Power-Down function)

-Would SN74ALVC164245 have the "input tolerant " and "output tolerant" function?

Please let me know if you have any information.

Best Regards

  • If it had these features, the datasheet would proudly and loudly say so.

However, what it actually says is that it needs a pull-up on OE to protect the I/Os during power down, and, in the Absolute Maximum Ratings, that the input signals at the I/O ports must not be much higher than the respective VCC.

  • Shing ,

Unfortunately , the device does not have the Ioff feature listed on the datasheet .
The I/O of A and B ports have ESD diode to VccA and VccB respectively .So , it is not recommended to have voltages greater than Vcc on any of the I/O ports .
Also , the inputs DIR and OE doesn't have positive ESD diodes to Vcc , so technically you can apply voltages higher than Vcc however it is not recommended.
