TXS0108EPWR rise and fall time cannot archive, why?

hi,

Diagram above showing the use case of TXS0108EPWR.

Problem Definition

1. Signal generator generates square wave of 1 MHz (500ns high and 500 ns low)

2. At point B (5.0V side) the rise and fall time are as expected.

3. Rise time at output of A (3.3V side) is approximately 800 ns and fall time is 600 ns. need to understand why this is happening even though datasheet says max datarate is 60 Mbps in pushpull configuration

Rgds,

  • Hi KpK

The TXS0108 is able to handle the data rate with no issues. I fact it can do 110MBps for 3.3V to 5V translation.

There are edge accelerators on both rising and falling edges on this part that facilitates this data rate. This being push pull, the effect of RC time constant is also not dominant.

The only caveat I see is that TXS0108 is meant for fast rising edges. As mentioned in the datasheet, the input transition rise/fall times should be 10ns/V.

    Thanks
