Difference between Flip Flop Part Number CD74HC74 and SN74HC74-EP

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74HC74-EP, CD74HC74, SN74HC74

Hello,

Im working on implementing a replacement for a previous flip flop I had in my design that went obsolete. It looks like I have a choice between either the CD74HC74 and the SN74HC74-EP. I looked at both the data sheets and they seem to be very similar. Can anyone please explain in detail what the specific and main differences are between the two devices?

Thanks

  • Hi Kelvin ,

I see that the temp ratings and the package offerings are different among the two . -EP is part of HIREL and Military group and commercial part is SN74Hc74.
Essentially , there is no difference .CD74 parts were acquired through Harris semiconductor acquisitions and TI had its own version. As long as there is demand for them , TI wont obsolete it .
