SN74LVC1G125 buffer gate - multiple outputs drive

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G125

Hi,

The datasheet for the SN74LVC1G125  http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/sn74lvc1g125.pdf  page 11 mentioned the buffer gate can drive multiple outputs.

Can I know what is the maximum number of outputs that can be driven by the SN74LVC1G125  ?

Thanks.

  • KB,

The maximum number of outputs that can be driven by the SN74LVC1G125 device is dictated by the system requirements of each output you are trying to drive.  The SN74LVC1G125 device can produce 24 mA of drive current so you can drive as many outputs as you like as long as the total current required by the outputs exceeds 24 mA.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi KB ,

LVC devices are high drive devices and can fan out to number of outputs depends on the current drive . It can drive 32mA of current under typical conditions as per electrical spec . depending on the receiver device requirements , the fan out would vary .
With more available gates , you can gang the outputs together to produce higher drive but need to have it lesser than the abs max for the whole device which is specified in the datasheet .
