Lead/Ball Finish options??????

Where in TI's voluminous data sheets or its voluminous website is there a listing of what the Lead/Ball Finish codes on the data sheets mean and  why we should care?  I'm specifically looking at 74LVC1G3157DBVR and trying to figure out if I should use the variant marked "CU NIPDAU" or the one marked "CU NIPDAU /CU SN."  I've wasted a lot of time fruitlessly pursuing this.

  • Hi Jeffrey ,

I totally understand navigating the site can be quite a challenge . I go through it myself everyday :)
you can start with here . www.ti.com/.../packaginghome.page where you can get more info about the terminology and app notes .
In the quality packaging tab of the product folder, clicking on the details link can give more information about the product content .
E4 indicates "green" mold compound being used .
