Difference between SN74AUP1T04 and SN74AUP1T14

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74AUP1T14, SN74AUP1T04

Hi,

The titles of the datasheets of SN74AUP1T04 and SN74AUP1T14 differ by Schmitt-Trigger input, but the description in the datasheets both mention Schmitt-Trigger. Can you clarify the difference(s) between these two parts?

  • For other logic families, the difference between '04 and '14 is that only the latter has Schmitt-trigger inputs.

However, the AUP1T family is designed for voltage translation, so its inputs must be able to cope with unusual voltage levels. Therefore, all devices in the AUP1T family have Schmitt-trigger inputs, even if the description does not say so.

The only practical difference between the SN74AUP1T04 and the SN74AUP1T14 is what is painted on top of the chip.
