Hello,
In the datasheet of SN74AVCA164245 page 1, there is the discription as below.
"Dynamic Drive Capability Is Equivalent to Standard Outputs With IOH and IOL of ±24 mA at 2.5-V VCC"
Hoever, in the EC table on the page 5, the IOH and the IOL is +/-12mA at the condition of 2.4V to 2.7V VCCO.
Could you please let me know his reason? Which are values correct?
Best Regards,
Ryuji Asaka
Ryuji,
I've notified the apps engineer supporting this product. They will get back to you. Thanks.
In the meantime, I quickly looked at the datasheet. I believe the +/- 24 mA refers to dynamic current (e.g. Current that is provided when the outputs switch from high to low or from low to high), while the +/- 12 mA refers to static current (e.g. Current that is provided when the outputs is at a steady high or at a steady low).
Also, this app note has more details.
Best Regards,
Nirav
Hi Ryuji ,
I agree with Nirav on this . The app note explains the DOC ; where the low impedance high drive at the beginning and higher impedance lower drive after the transition . The feature helps in overshoots and undershoots suppression without series damping resistors .
The static drive will be smaller than the dynamic drive available initially .
