TXB0104 drive strength with SPI interface

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXB0104

Hi,

we are using TXB0104 bidirectional level translator in our design. it is not driving properly for SPI interface, even  0 or 1 logic also not giving proper results.

on the Port A side 1.8V and port B side 3.3V using using in one of the project.

Even in another project we are using same device from 3.3V (port A) to 5V  (port B). there also we getting same issue.

  • Hi Ravi ,

Moved to translation forum for support.
  • Ravi,

From your post, it sounds like the TXB0104 is not changing output levels. Have you tried a DC test on the I/O pins?

    1. Force TXB0104 input to DC Low --> Does the TXSB0104 output stay Low?

    2. Now force TXB0104 input to DC High --> Does the TXSB0104 output switch High?

    3. Force the TXB0104 input back to DC Low --> Does the TXSB0104 output switch Low?

Do you have any (a) oscilloscope screenshots and (b) schematics that you could share with me?

Also, keep in mind that the external driver connected to the TXB0104 must be capable of (a) sourcing 2 mA in order for the TXB0104 to recognize a Logic High, and (b) sinking 2 mA in order for the TXB0104 to recognize a Logic Low. This is documented in the "Input Driver Requirements" section of the datasheet.

    Best Regards,
    Nirav
