SN74HCT138APW

Hi,

I´m looking for the IC SN74HCT138APW. Unfortunately I can only find the .....PWR. Where is here the difference between APW and PWR?

Thank you for your Help!

  • Hi Andy,

Is it possible that the package you are looking for is PW and you are getting the A from a part revision number for what ever part you are obtaining the packaging type from? APW is not a package type that TI has where as PW is a common package type.
As far as the difference between PW and PWR the only difference is how the part gets shipped. PWR will come in a reel where as PW will come in the standard packaging.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
  • Hi Daniel,

many thank for your Answer. I have found this description at the Service Manuel from DN-HS5500 "IC 701".
    site.instrumentalparts.com/DNHC5000.pdf

For me is only importent, that i can buy a SN74HCT138-xx and that this is the right as the Service manuel.

Is it true that there is this IC as SMD only as TSSOP-16?

    mfg.

  • Hi Andy,

Looking at the service manual and the distributors that are selling this part it would seem that the SN74HCT138PW and SN74HCT138APW are the same, but I ask you to make sure of this by checking our data sheet for the SN74HCT138PW here to check to make sure the pins are the same:

    www.ti.com.cn/.../getliterature.tsp

It is not true that the only package that is SMD is the TSSOP-16. If you go near the end of that data sheet around page 14 it shows you whether each package is through hole or SMD. For the most part only the PDIP is through hole and the rest are SMD.

    Thanks,
    Daniel
