[TXB0108] OE connection during power up and power down operation

Hi team,

My customer will use TXB0108 in their system. According to its datasheet, OE should be tied to GND during power up and power down operation. They won't use OE function, so they want to connect it to Vcca directly. Is it OK?

Also, please let us know some example circuit using passive parts only to keep this rule if it's not recommended.

They are just writing schematic now and have to finish it within this week, so please give us a comment as soon as possible.

  • Takashi,

The OE pin may be shorted to VCCA if there is no need to ever switch between enable and disable of the TXSB0108 I/Os.

Keep this in mind - In some systems, there can be devices that will produce noise on their outputs during power up. Keeping the OE pin low during power up would mean that the translator isolates that noise from propagating through to the rest of the signal chain. This is one of the advantages (but not a necessitiy) of the OE functionality.

Thank you for your quick response on this.
    I understand.
