On/Off logic switch

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G17

Hi Team,

my customer is looking for the on/off logic switch, the function requirement is like that when press the button, the logic will output high level and keep it high, then press again the button, the logic will change from high to low and keep it low, then if press again the button, the logic will change from low to high and keep it high and so on.

Attached is customer timing requirement, please help to advise if we have any device that can achieve this function. Thanks.

Regards,

Arthur

  • Arthur,

Yes TI will surely have a part for this application.  However, it will not be a signal switch because our passive signal switches only transfer the voltage on one side of the switch to the other.

I will move this request to the logic forum so they can get you the correct device for this application.

    Thank you,

    Adam

  • Hi Arthur ,

A D flip flop should work for you . having the Q\ connected back to the D will result in the waveform you provided. A prog delay would be a challenge , are you intending for switch debounce to settle out before the output switches?
Would recommend LVC1g74 or AUP1G74 . A Schmitt trigger buffer like sn74lvc1G17 would filter out the switching noise to provide smooth wave.
