SN74AVC4T245 VCCA and OE question...

Hello,

Currently we have a VCCA of 1.8V and we also have a control signal that ranges from (0 - 3.3V) on the inputs of the 1OE and 2OE pins. The datasheet states that Vin low and high thresholds are referenced by the VCCA and we were wondering if our setup could pose any potential issues? What is the abs maximum rating on the OE pins?

Thanks so much for your time!

-Amanda

  • Amanda,

Under the 'Recommended Operating Conditions' section of the datasheet is a parameter named 'VI - Input Voltage', which is re-produced below:

This parameter explicitly states the recommended minimum and maximum input voltage levels for any input. This parameter provides a means to determine if the device is tolerant of a higher voltage than the supply voltage. If the input is overvoltage tolerant, the positive maximum rating for the input voltage will be an absolute voltage rating (in this case, 3.60V, irrespective of VCCA or VCCB) and will be limited by the capabilities of the wafer-fab process.

Therefore the customer may apply 3.30V to 1OE and 2OE even if VCCA = 1.80V.

BTW - The Absolute Maximum voltage on the 1OE and 2OE pins are also provided in the datasheet (since 1OE and 2OE are control pins):

    Best Regards,
    Nirav
