TMS320F28335 Experimenter Kit with 5V Logic

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC2G07

I apologize for the probably unnecessary question

For a motor control project I'm planning to purchase the TMS320C2000 Experimenter Kit among others.  In the TMS320C2000 Experimenter Kit Overview (sprufr5f) document, I read the statement

-5.0-V supply for prototyping area

-3.3-V supply for prototyping area

Despite the F28335 being a 3.3V logic level MCU, are the GPIOs transformed to 5V for the 5V prototyping area. I can imagine that this is probably not the case, but without the board schematics this is something I cannot answer definitely on my own. Would the SN74LVC2G07 be a solution for, say, a pwm output or geartooth hall-effect sensor?

Thank you so much for your time

  • Hi Jan ,

The SN74LVC2G07 is an opendrain buffer which allows for translation using a pull up resistor . This can also be used for down translation since the inputs are over voltage tolerant .

please refer to the recently released solution for motor control using MSP430 booster pack which is also compatible with Arduino.
