Advice for logic input resisstor

Hi Team,

I have some questions for connection btw logcic IC and MCU.

As I know when logic IC is connected to MCU, generally the resistor is inserted btw logic IC and MCU.

If the resistor is not used and the logic IC and MCU are connected directly, is there any problem?

What is recommended when connecting btw logic IC and MCU? Is the resistor inserted or direct connection?

Could you please advis me?

Thanks,

WS

  • Logic inputs and outputs are designed to be connected directly together.

Resistors might be used to terminate transmission lines, or to limit the current if some device is accidentally misconfigured so that two outputs with opposite values are connected together. If neither applies to your circuit, you don't need a resistor.
