LSF0204 application problem with VoL & VoH design

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LSF0204, TXB0104

Hello,

I'm helping customer to solve an urgent case for the TV backlighting project with the LSF0204 level translator device.

Input side is from FPGa with 2.5V to MCU side with 3.3V for SPI interface and uni-directional signal. Please find the below block.

We found that the VOL level of LSF0204 output is too high up to 0.5V~1V it's based on pull-up resistor values. I'm wondering to know if there is no any driving capability for this device since in the D/S page 14 it says there is no driving capability, right?

BTW, i'll forward detail data to you guys by email.

  • The LSF0204 has no drive capability, it essentially acts as a switch between the I/O ports. It is designed for open-drain I/O, not push-pull like SPI.

You may want to consider using a translator designed for push-pull interfaces. A TXB0104 or AVC4T774 may be a better option.
