SN74ALB16244: VIHmin and VILmax data

Part Number: SN74ALB16244

Hello Team,

Do you have the VIHmin and VILmax data of SN74ALB16244DGGR to share with customers?

Looked at datasheet Fig 1 and Fig 2 which gives VOH and VOL spec.

Where to find VIH max and min data?

Thanks,

Mizanur

  • Hi Mizanur,

The SN74ALB1624x devices are built on BiCMOS technology and don't operate quite the same as modern/standard CMOS logic.

'Figure 1' on the datasheet shows the output voltage for a given (high) input voltage for 3 different output currents, and 'Figure 2' shows the same for a given (low) input voltage.

Note that inputs on this device require significantly more current than what is typical for CMOS devices -- the control inputs need 10uA max (which is normal for older CMOS), but the data inputs require up to 1mA - something typically only seen in older BJT logic. These devices combine the two technologies to provide high speed, high drive outputs with low delay times at the cost of some extra drive current.

To answer your initial question, there is no VIH or VIL on this datasheet. To design with this part, the customer would need to know the desired output (V_OH and V_OL), then use the plots given to determine the minimum input voltage requirements.
  • Hi Emrys,
    Thanks.
